William "Bill" Carr Sr. Obituary

William “Bill” C. Carr Sr 75 of Shrewsbury passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025 in UMass Medical Center, Worcester, MA after a brief illness.

Bill was born in Marlborough, MA, the son of the late Carlton D. and Vera L. (Muise) Carr Sr. He graduated from Framingham South High School, Class of ’69 and most recently worked for E.L. Harvey & Son for over 30 years, retiring in 2014.

He was predeceased by his wife of 23 years, Adeline L. (Dean) Carr in September 1993.

Bill is survived by his son, William “Bill” Carr Jr and his wife Aubrey of Douglas, 2 grandsons, Devin Marino of ID, Jackson Carr of Douglas, his brother Carlton D. Carr II and his wife Carolyn of NC, his sister Deborah L. Edwards and her husband William of Bellingham, several nieces, nephews and for over 10 years Bill and his wife Adeline raised 17 foster children.

Bill was a long-time member of United Brethren Lodge, joining in 1978 and became a Past Master in the mid 1980’s. He loved to cook for his family and friends, volunteered for Boy Scouts of America, Troop 31 in Marlborough and had a passion for NASCAR, and traveling all over the East Coast.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 9-10:45 in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough, MA

A Graveside Service will follow at 11 am in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson St., Marlborough.
