Raymond "Ray" Valente Obituary

Marlborough – Raymond “Ray” Valente, 64 of Marlborough died at his home on Sunday, May 2, 2021.

Ray was born in Milford, MA, the son of the late Cosmo and Hazel (Lancisi) Valente. He was raised in Marlborough, graduated from Marlborough High School, Class of ‘74. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music and his Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

He is survived by his 2 sons, Raymond C. Valente, and Robert Valente both of Marlborough; 3 sisters, Marcia Valente and her husband Jay McBride of Southborough, Trina Baillargeon and her husband Victor of Hudson, Saundra Lane and her husband Timothy of CT; 3 nieces and 3 nephews; his girlfriend Lynne Canavan and Christine Boyle the mother of his children.

Ray was a fearless entrepreneur and had a life long passion for music. He was a past Director of Marlboro Middle School Band and owned Valente Music in Marlboro. He also owned Advantage Entertainment Agency, Affordable Limo. He was a member and Past President of Rotary and served on the Marlborough School Committee.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 10 from 4-7 p.m. in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main Street, Marlborough.

A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 11 a.m. in St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 27 Main Street, Southboro, MA. Due to COVID seating in Church will be limited. Following cremation burial will be at a later date.
