Raymond “Ray” A. Carreira, 73, of Marlborough, died in the comfort of his home after an illness with his loving family surrounding him on Monday, July 8, 2024.
Ray was born in Westerly, RI to August and Evelyn (Vacca) Carreira.
Ray worked as a mechanical engineer for Digital and retired in 1992.
Ray is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bonnie (Riddell) Carreira, their daughter Candace Carreira and her husband Matthew Spice, all of Marlborough. He is also survived by his grandson Tommy Hedin of Marlborough, his sister-in-law Joan Carreira, his niece Jamie and nephew Chris, along with many great nieces and great nephews. Ray was predeceased by his granddaughter-in-law Kelley and his brother Kenneth Carreira.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July14, 2024 from 2-4 pm at the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main Street, Marlborough.
A Mass of Christian Burial will occur on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect Street, Marlborough.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
