Mark J Fournier

It is with deep sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Mark J. Fournier, 66, of Marlborough, MA who died unexpectedly on Sunday, November 30, 2025. 

Born in Marlborough on January 28, 1959, the son of the late Edward and Irene (Davidian) Fournier, Mark was a proud, lifelong resident of the city. He graduated from Marlborough High School, class of 1978 and built a career over 30 years doing inspections for housing authorities across the state for his own company, CPHI. 

Mark was a man who truly knew everybody! Known for his kind heart, ever-present smile, and wonderfully stubborn nature, he could rarely go anywhere in town without bumping into a friend and stopping for a chat. He loved being outdoors (as long as it wasn’t too hot!), finding joy in fishing, golfing, soaking up the sunshine, and spending time with his wide circle of friends. In his younger years, nobody could hit a baseball or throw a football like Boomer! Mark loved New England sports teams and couldn’t pass up an opportunity to spend Sundays on the couch watching football. He possessed an active spirit and found countless activities to keep him busy.

Mark is survived by his three beloved children: Jason Fournier of Southbridge, MA, Alisa Hardin (and her husband Marquise) of Maricopa, AZ, and Casey Fournier of Berlin, MA; his former wife, Dania Fournier; 4 grandchildren: Rylan, Aria, Layla, and Carver. He also leaves behind his three brothers: David Fournier, Dennis Fournier, and Dan Fournier and sister Paula Fournier. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Young, and girlfriend of 19 years, Trish Newcomb.

Friends and family are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 from 5-7pm at Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St, Marlborough, MA.

A private Graveside Service will be held for family at Evergreen Cemetery in Marlborough. 

A Celebration of Mark’s Life will be held on Wednesday, December 17, at 1pm at the Marlborough Fish & Game Association, 1 Muddy Ln, Marlborough, MA.
