John “Poppie” Sahagian, born April 18 th , 1935, a lifelong resident of Marlborough, died at his home on Monday, July 22, 2024 at the age of 89.
John was born in Marlborough, the son of the late Oscar and Rose (Nordikian) Sahagian. He graduated from Marlborough High School, Class of ’53. He attended East Coast Aerotech and earned his Associate’s Degree in Business Management from Fisher Junior College.
John served his Country in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-1959. He was a folding box salesman and had a love for photography and gardening.
John was a member of the ITAM Post 45 as well as the American Legion and VFW. He belonged to Gateway Camera Club and Hudson Camera Club. Member of the Marlborough Zoning Board.
John was loved by his wife of 63 years, Patricia M. (Donahue) of Marlborough, his four children, Eileen Wilcox-Colburn and her husband Kenneth or Ayer, John Sahagian Jr. (deceased), Matthew Sahagian and his wife Kristine of Marlborough, Margaret Sahagian and her fiancé Jeff Gilchrist of Daytona Beach, FL. Eight grandchildren, Breighana, Sean, Ashley, Alexandra, Hayley, Brittney, Jolee and Matthew, and two step grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Amy. Three great grandchildren, Brayden, Leonardo and Piper. Predeceased by his sisters, Peggy Makulevich, Ann Madenjian, and brother Sarkis Sahagian, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2024, from 10:00am-12:00pm at the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 West Main Street, Marlborough.
