Hormoz Panahi

Hormoz Panahi, of Marlborough, MA, passed away on April 11, 2026, after a two-year battle with an aggressive cancer.

He is survived by his son, Collin Panahi; his two daughters, Laleh and Delara Panahi; his lifelong partner and friend, Oksana; along with many other family members and friends.

Born in Iran, Hormoz came to the United States in his early twenties, just before the Iranian Revolution. That period of transition shaped the course of his life, leading him to build a future defined by stability, perseverance, and a deep sense of responsibility to his family.

He went on to earn two master’s degrees, in English literature and software engineering. Hormoz worked for the same medical device company for over 30 years, making contributions not only to product development but also to the people around him.

He was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering discipline, qualities that remained with him throughout his life. He approached his work with seriousness and purpose, viewing it not only as a professional commitment but as a reflection of care and responsibility.

He held a longstanding passion for education and valued growth, both in himself and in others. He took pride in encouraging and mentoring those around him to pursue their goals with focus and determination.

Outside of his work, he found enjoyment in cooking and in music, particularly 1980s rock. He was also a dedicated fan of the Detroit Lions, following them with steady loyalty over the years.

A graveside service for Hormoz will be held on April 21, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Lakeside Cemetery, 501 North Ave, Wakefield, MA 01880.
