Deborah "Deb" Reebel Obituary

Deborah “Deb” (McKenzie) Reebel, 72, of Marlborough died very suddenly and unexpectedly at UMass Medical Center, Worcester, MA in the early morning hours of Sunday March 23, 2025 surrounded by her loving family and God.

Deb had been a lifelong resident of Marlboro. She graduated in1971 from Marlboro High School.  She was the second daughter of Clinton S. McKenzie and Ruth (Tucker) McKenzie.

Deb had survived by her husband of almost 45 years Dennis E. Reebel and their two children, Kimberely Jean Rushlow and her husband Brian of Holden MA and Brian Edward Reebel his wife Lisa (Wagner) Reebel of Shrewsbury, MA and four amazing and loving grandchildren: Alice and Casey Rushlow, Lucas and Shane Reebel, by her sister Mariada Bare of Bozeman, MT., brothers-in-laws Thomas Reebel of NC., Ronald Reebel of Ohio, and sister-in-law Kathy Kersey of MO., their families and beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Deb was a loving and caring person who enjoyed time with her family and friends. Besides her family Deb enjoyed working on sewing projects, traveling and supporting her husband at Masonic and Shriner functions. This extended masonic family, whom she met while traveling, will miss Deb’s smile, support, commitment, and caring for years to come. Deb, besides being a wonderful and caring mother, spent years working outside our home at Datatrol Inc., Hudson Youth Center and Stowbrook Business Systems.

Deb received a successful kidney transplant, October 9, 2023, at UMass Medical Center. She received amazing support and care from their Renal Team and others during her diagnosis period and the remainder of her life. Unfortunately, the problem that caused her natural kidneys to fail caused a failure of the transplant, but she and Dennis enjoyed their time together away from dialysis. Consider making a kidney donation or any other organ donation and help another deserving family.

Calling hours will be held at the Short and Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough, MA on Friday May 2 from 4-7 pm.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Manor Restaurant in Boylston, MA on Sunday May 4, from 1-4 pm.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers please consider making a memorial donation in Deb’s name to the Kidney Foundation or UMass Memorial Renal Team 119 Belmont St., Worcester, MA 01605
