With hearts full of love and gratitude, we announce the passing of David Wilfred Scott, a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025, after a short illness. He was 83 years old.
Born in Framingham, MA, and raised in Marlborough, MA, David’s life was defined by his deep love for his family and his unwavering commitment to their happiness and well-being.
David served his country with pride as a Navy Hospital Corpsman from 1964 to 1968, later continuing his service as an Army Reserve Corpsman from 1969 to 1982. His dedication to caring for others extended far beyond his military service, as he was always ready to lend a hand, offer kind words, and provide guidance to those he loved.
A man of strong faith, David was an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Hudson, where he found both spiritual fulfillment and a loving community. He had a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys, none greater than the time he spent with his family. He cherished visiting lighthouses along the New England coast, with Nubble Light in York Harbor, ME, being his favorite—a place that reflected his own steadfast and guiding presence in the lives of his loved ones.
Above all else, David adored his family. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Phyliss (Renninger) Scott, and longtime companion, Gail Bissonnette, as well as his parents, William and Grace Scott. He leaves behind his greatest treasures—his three children: Mary-Therese (Teri) Robbie and her husband, Doug, of Bellingham, MA; Elodie Menard of Marlborough, MA; and David Scott of Marlborough, MA.
He was a proud and devoted grandfather to five grandchildren—Nichole, Danielle, Derek, Kami, and Eyan—and he found immeasurable joy in his two great-grandchildren, Ryleigh and Bensen. David delighted in every milestone and accomplishment, celebrating the successes of his grandchildren and looking forward with eager anticipation to seeing his great-grandchildren grow. His love for them was boundless, and his presence in their lives was a gift they will forever cherish.
David’s compassion, devotion, and love created a legacy that will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him. His kindness and warmth will be deeply missed, but the love he shared will remain as a guiding light, just like the lighthouses he so admired.
A celebration of David’s life will be held on March 9 at 11:00 am at the Hudson Seventh-day Advent Church, 94 Marlboro St, Hudson, Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to a veterans’ organization of your choice.
