Charles “Charley” A. Dedecko, 90 of Mashpee and formerly of Marlborough passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 10, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
Charley was born in Hudson, MA, the son of the late Charles J. and Eleanor (Fournier) Dedecko. He graduated from Marlborough High School, Class of ’53.
He entered the Marine Corps after High School and proudly served his country from 1953-1956. He worked all his life as a carpenter and was the owner of Dedecko and Son Carpentry.
Charley is survived by his wife of 70 years Anne M. (Martin) Dedecko of Mashpee, 2 daughters, Jennifer Luce and her husband Kenneth of Marlborough, Lisa Brooker of TN and son in law Henry Paquette of FL, along with 8 grandchildren, Caroline, Zachary and his wife Alyssa, Jessica, Chad, Brittany, Michael, Kristin and Jason, 9 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends. He also leaves behind his cousin Matt and his wife Renee Dedecko of Osterville.
He was predeceased by his son, Charles “Chuckie” A. Dedecko Jr., in 1977 and daughter Michelle Paquette in 2014, his brother John “Jack” Dedecko and sister, Ellen Dedecko (Sr. Mary John of the Poor Clares of Jamaica Plain)
Charley belonged to several clubs, The Polish Club in Worcester, The Moose Club in Marlborough, The Monument Beach Sportsman Club in Bourne and the Falmouth Skeet Club. He was a life member of the Sagamore Beach Gun Club in Bourne and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Union as well as the Carpenters Union Local 336.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 12:00 pm in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough, MA. Burial will follow in St Mary Cemetery, Beach St., Marlborough.
Visitation will be held prior to his service from 10- Noon also in the Funeral Home.
