Carole A (Goodhind) LaFlam

Carole A. LaFlam of Marlborough and formerly of Northampton, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, peacefully, with her daughter by her side.

Carole was the daughter of the late Richard and Anne Goodhind.  She was born and raised in Northampton with her sisters, Nancy and Joan.

She graduated from Northampton High School, Class of 1961.  She worked as a clerk in various businesses, notably a bookstore and a stationary store.

Carole is survived by her daughter, Anne Ginsberg and Anne’s husband Hy of Shrewsbury, her two grandchildren, Evan and Daisy, and her two sisters, Nancy Dionne (late husband Richard), and Joan Short.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Anyone who ever spent time in Carole’s home would know that she was a devoted fan of Disney and especially of Bambi.  She loved going to Walt Disney World – first with Anne in the early 1990’s, then with Nancy’s family, and even alone, many times. Her walls and bookshelves were covered in Disney memorabilia.

Carole was an avid reader her whole life.  She enjoyed fantasy novels and the latest memoirs of influential figures, but her true love was romance – especially paranormal romance books, the titles of which would get her grandchildren giggling when she asked them to pick one up for her.  She could spend hours in a bookstore and Barnes & Noble will miss her business.

The family would like to thank the staff of Christopher Heights of Marlborough for their care and kindness.  The family is also grateful for the Summit ElderCare PACE team who provided medical support to Carole.  Many thanks to Krystal, her primary nurse whom she saw once or twice a week for years and truly adored.
