Barbara A (Alcarese) Johnson

Barbara A. (Alcarese) Johnson, 84, of Williamstown, MA and formerly of Marlborough, MA, passed away peacefully at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by her loving family on March 14, 2025.

Barbara was born in Lawrence, MA to the late Thomas H. and Ruth E. (Seifert) Alcarese. 

She attended the University of Massachusetts earning a Bachelors in Political Science. She loved dogs, singing, and the color aqua. She struggled with severe mental illness and Alzheimer’s.

Barbara is survived by her 3 sons, Steven Johnson of Napa Valley, San Francisco, Glenn Johnson-Mussad and his husband Albert of Greenfield, and Kevin Thomas, of Greenfield.  She is also survived by her grand dog, Banjo.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 11am in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough, MA.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 -11 AM,  also at the Funeral Home.
