Marlborough – Anthony “Tony” Scerra, 86, lifelong resident of Marlborough passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Tony was born in Marlborough, the son of the late Ferdinand and Josephine (Grasso) Scerra. He graduated from St. Francis Seraphic Seminary in 1953 and served in the Massachusetts National Guard.
Tony owned and operated Wayside Country Store since 1975. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening and working at his store. He was a longtime member of the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joan (Mutti) Scerra of Marlborough; 3 sons, Peter, daughter in law Stephanie, Anthony and his wife Sara, Chris and his wife Darlene; a daughter, Deborah Eager and her husband Robert, all of Marlborough; 5 grandchildren, Stephen, AJ, Adam, Kevin and Angelina; a great grandson, Stephen; a brother, Fred Scerra and his wife Norma; a sister, Geraldine Rabidou and several nieces and nephews.
Tony was predeceased by his son Stephen Anthony Scerra in 1981.
A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 11 a.m. in the IC Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson St.
Calling hours will be held prior to Mass from 9-10:30 a.m. in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough.
