Anna Rita (McCormick) Reynolds, 97, of Marlborough, MA., passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family.
“Rita” was born in Glace Bay, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada to the late Anthony and Josephine (McNeil) McCormick. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in education and taught for many years. She later became a banker achieving the level of Assistant Vice President of Coolidge Bank. Rita married Thomas “Leo” Reynolds in 1955 and was married to him for 33 years until his passing in 1988.
Rita is survived by her 2 children, Leona Campbell and her husband Terrance of Marlborough and Thomas “Tom” Reynolds and his wife Diane of Peabody; her 4 grandchildren, Jeff Campbell and his wife Joanne, Lauren (Campbell) Willand and her husband Derrick, Richard Reynolds, and Andrew Reynolds; her sister, Theresa Campbell; her great-grand dogs Duncan, Phoebe and Roxy, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She is predeceased by her husband Thomas “Leo” Reynolds, her sisters Mae McNeil, Shirley DeLazzer, and Connie Costello and her brothers, Roderick “Rod” McCormick and Harvey McCormick.
Rita cherished every moment spent with her family. As one of seven children, those connections meant everything to her. She traveled to Cape Breton often to visit loved ones, always returning with stories, laughter, and memories to share. A wonderful cook and an avid card player, she brought joy and comfort to every gathering. She was a devoted Boston sports fan and was known for her sense of humor, wit, warm heart, and the twinkle in her eye. She leaves behind a legacy of love, humor, and generosity that will be forever remembered.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect Street, Marlborough, MA.
There will be calling hours in the Short and Rowe Funeral Home, 95 West Main Street, Marlborough, MA. prior to the Mass on December 6, 2025 from 9-11 AM.
Burial will be at a later date.
